3 Benefits of Hiring Electric Scissor Lifts For Indoor Job Sites

Posted on

If you want to hire a scissor lift to work on an indoor construction job, then you need to make sure that the lift fits your environment. In many cases, a simple electric scissor lift will do a good job. What are the benefits of hiring an electrical scissor lift?

1. Avoid Fume Build-Ups

If you hire a diesel-powered scissor lift, then you have to find a way to manage the fumes that the fuel gives out. These emissions can be a problem in an indoor environment. If you can't ventilate the area, then the fumes will build up. You risk asking people to work in an unsafe environment that could make them ill.

Electric scissor lifts don't emit fumes. Even if you have an unventilated space, these lifts won't create any dangerous fumes. As a result, they are much safer to use indoors.

2. Reduce Noise Pollution

Some scissor lifts are noisy. For example, if you run a diesel lift, the machine will make a lot of noise as the lift goes up and down. If you're working in an enclosed space, then this noise can negatively affect your working conditions.

For example, your workers might struggle to communicate with each other over the noise of the lift. They might have to wear ear protectors all the time. The noise you make in the space could also amplify through the empty building space and lead to noise pollution outside the building.

Electric scissor lifts operate quietly. It doesn't matter how often you have to raise or lower them; you'll barely notice the noise they make.

3. Prevent Surface Damage

While you can use outdoor scissor lifts indoors if you have enough space, this isn't always a good idea. Outdoor lifts and larger diesel machines often have large and rugged tyres. These tyres could mark and even damage interior floor surfaces as you move and operate the lift.

If you're using a scissor lift to finish off the inside of a building, say at the decorating stage, then you might have already installed flooring. The last thing you want is to have to try to remove stubborn tyre marks and scratches from these new surfaces.

Electric scissor lifts are primarily designed for indoor use. Their tyres are usually more flexible, smooth and non-marking. As a result, they are less likely to mark or damage flooring.

Bear in mind that electric scissor lifts come in various configurations, heights and sizes. To find the right lift for your job, ask your scissor lift hire company for advice.
