Portable Toilet Rental Tips

Posted on

Sanitation is an essential concern when organising an outdoor event such as a wedding, corporate party or birthday. Portable toilets are an instant solution if your preferred venue does not have washrooms. The article below details what to consider when renting a portable toilet for your outdoor event.

Number of Toilets

Most clients tend to underestimate the number of toilets required at their event. As such, they feel ashamed when they see long queues at the washrooms. The best approach would be to consult with the rental company to determine the number of toilets you need. Typically, the company assesses the number of guests at your event and their gender to decide the number of male and female washrooms required. In some cases, you will need additional toilets if you have VIPs or disabled individuals attending the event.

Toilet Features

Below are some of the features you could require in a portable toilet:

  • The toilet must be spacious. Otherwise, guests will be uncomfortable when using the toilet.
  • Consider portable toilets with baskets where you can place extra toilet rolls, first aid kits, safety pins and hair sprays.
  • Examine the toilet's amenities. For instance, the toilet should have a sink, interior lighting and mirrors.
  • If you expect high temperatures on the event day, you could ask the rental company to install an AC unit.

Site Preparation

You will need to prepare the site before the portable toilets arrive. Ideally, the toilets should be placed at the peripheral. However, the proposed location must be accessible to the guests and the trucks transporting the portable toilets. Place the toilets on level ground to ensure your guests have an easy time using the facilities.

From the onset, you should be sure about the toilet configuration. For example, if you have an expansive venue, you could have the toilets strategically placed in small groups. It ensures easy access for your guests. On the other hand, VIP and disability-friendly toilets could be placed independently to ensure the privacy of these individuals.

Rental Terms

A significant concern when examining the rental terms would be the available services. For instance, does the rental company transport the portable toilets to and from your venue? Moreover, does it deploy an experienced team to clean and empty the toilets? If these services are available, check whether they are included in the standard charges. Finally, examine the toilet's availability. Remember, the washrooms should arrive before the event starts and leave once the event ends.

When renting portable toilets, determine the required number of toilets, the toilets' features and rental terms. Moreover, consider the recommended site preparation tips.
